Company History
The National Electronics Registry Database System, NERDS was co founded by Paul Mcewan JP, and Ryan Williams in September 2001.
Developed through DraftCom Pty Ltd, a drafting and Engineering consulting enterprise operating in Australia and the Asia Pacific region, NERDS remains its subsidiary to this day.
Development began in late September 2001.
Within six (6) months NERDS was being momentarily launched in the Newcastle and Hunter Region for a three-month trial. Through the active participation of pawnbrokers and community groups within the area, NERDS accumulated a rapid groundswell of public support.
At the conclusion of this trial, the National Electronics Registry Database System became available to all Australians. Media attention at the time was widespread, and included radio interviews on 98 stations, articles in most major Australian Newspapers, as well as numerous Television appearances, including channel 9’s Today.
Developed with the paramount goal of assisting the community and reducing the rate of theft in all states, NERDS currently supports numerous charities, social groups, primary and secondary schools, and the NSW State Emergency Service.
Today, NERDS popularity continues to grow, with plans for international expansion. NERDS would like to thank all members of the community who have expressed their support throughout our relatively short history.
