How Secure is Nerds?
Nerds endeavors to guard your personal information from the prying eyes of hackers, or those with a commercial interest in your spending habits.
Nerds uses a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encrypted securities system. This is the same standard of security used as financial institutions ensuring the highest standard of protection.
Additionally your Email address and password are your exclusive gateway into your file.
Those running a search on an item registered in your name cannot access or view your personal details at any stage.

Privacy Policy

Registering a business/ private party who wishes to record their goods on the NERDS database: In accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (com):
  • All details registered will not be distributed, copied or sold.
  • All details registered will be protected using high-level security measures.
  • All registered party's details will be available to them at all times.
  • All registered party's details remain as accurate and up to date as he/she maintains them.
  • All information provided is produced at the discretion of the registered party and is applicable only to the service provided.
  • Registered parties shall have complete autonomy regarding corrections, deletions and additions of all data registered by them.
  • Only the registered party shall have access to his/her records.
  • Registered parties have access to their data solely and cannot access the data or personal details of any other registered party.
  • Credit card transactions will be conducted in "real time", therefore relevant parties will not have their credit card information recorded.
  • Upon registration, a registered party is aware that information supplied by them and made public is directly related to the purpose for which the information was obtained.
  • The nature of information available to the public and the main purposes for which that information is used, shall be made clear and readily available to all registered parties and non-registered parties at all times.
Registered party - Maintaining personal information/ Searching capabilities of website: In accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (com.):
  • Registered parties wishing to "report" a valuable do so with the knowledge that such information becomes available to the public.
  • In the event of a change of registered status only the registered status is to become available to the browser, and not any form of personal information relating to the relevant registered party.
  • Accuracy of all registered parties' details remains the responsibility of the registered party.
  • Only the registered party can make corrections, deletions, or additions to his/her database.
  • At all times only the registered party can access, inspect and distribute his/her records.
  • Nerds shall not use or disclose any information for a purpose other than the purpose for which it was obtained.
  • Nerds shall make public relevant information pertaining to record duration and keep registered parties informed of the period of time in which their records shall be kept.
  • Nerds shall undertake such security safeguards as to reasonably protect the registered party, against loss, against unorthorised access, use, modification or disclosure and against other misuse contained in a party's record.
